Lottery grants for disabled people

Grants funded by Lotto help to pay for equipment for disabled people who want to be more closely involved in their communities.

Overview

The Lottery Individuals with Disabilities Fund is available for eligible disabled people.

The grant is usually paid to the business supplying your equipment.

Who can apply

You can apply if your disability is a long term, limiting condition that affects your ability to take part in your community. For this Fund, long term means 6 months or longer.

The Fund is managed by the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA). Its funding committee meets 6 times a year to review applications.

DIA’s Community Matters website has more information about:

  • what equipment is funded
  • how to apply, or have someone apply on your behalf
  • what documents are required.
