Update sex marker on birth certificate 2 months
Update sex marker on birth certificate + Name change* 2 months
Investigate a potential error on a record 15 working days
Pre-adoptive birth certificate (your own) 10 working days
Pre-adoptive birth certificate (someone else's) 10 working days
Status of children search 15 working days

*This timeframe applies only to applications made using the BDM71, BDM73 and BDM75 co-apply forms.

Working days do not include weekends or public holidays. The timeframes above do not include delivery times for certificates.
