They work in the following areas:
- Arts — bring Asian art into the mainstream of NZ culture, while supporting local practitioners to thrive in Asia
- Business — support NZ companies to better understand Asia and help develop the next generation of Asia-savvy graduates through an internship programme
- Education — provide NZ educators with knowledge, resources and experiences to equip their students to thrive in Asia
- Entrepreneurship — support emerging NZ entrepreneurs to build connections and facilitate business relationships in Asia. The Foundation delivers the Young Business Leaders Initiative, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade
- Leadership — facilitate a global professional network focused on developing and maintaining strong links between NZ and Asia
- Research — commission studies that support informed public conversations about NZ’s relationship with Asia, and support the next generation of scholars through postgraduate research grants
- Media — support NZ journalists by providing travel grants, internships and access to Asia-related forums and speakers. The Asia Media Centre is a resource hub for NZ journalists to access information and expertise on Asia and Asian peoples
- Track II — facilitates informal diplomacy with think tanks in Asia to discuss issues facing the region
- Sport — provide NZ sportspeople opportunities to grow more knowledgeable, become connected and feel more confident about Asia.
