The Digital Identity Services Trust Framework regulator is called the Trust Framework Authority. The role of the authority is to accredit digital identity service providers.
It’s a separate statutory function within the Department of Internal Affairs and came into effect on .
The Trust Framework Authority regulator:
- accredits providers
- makes sure accredited providers consistently meet the laws, rules and regulations of the trust framework
- assesses and investigates complaints made about accredited providers or services
- manages the accreditation mark for the digital identity services trust framework.
