Kāinga Ora contributes to thriving communities that provide people with good quality, affordable housing choices that meet diverse needs and good access to jobs, transport, amenities and services.

It has two key roles: being a public housing landlord and partnering with the development community, iwi and Māori, local and central government, and community organisations to lead and facilitate urban development projects of all sizes.
