The office provides the Minister with information on issues relating to older people.  Their team works with local, regional and central government, and community organisations to:

• promote the wellbeing of older people, and
• create awareness of the opportunities and challenges of New Zealand's ageing population.

They have close links with community organisations representing the interests of older people, like:

• Grey Power
• Age Concern NZ.
